Urgent need for the Surgical supplies, in particular the orthopedic equipment.
 
After the roads were opened, there has been a massive influx of trauma patients at the Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad, most being treated in make shift tents outside the hospital building. It has become the first stop for all surgical emergencies for people being evacuated from the areas destroyed north/northeast of Abbottabad.
 
There is a website www.amcrelief.com. It has the list of supplies required over there. Please spread this to as many people as you can. Especially if you have contacts with surgeons.
 
As many as 20 limb amputations are being done at ayub hosp due to the shortage of orthopedic equipment. The equipment is also out of stock with the major suppliers in Lahore & Karachi. So, If anyone wants to help, tell them not send money but buy surgery and orthopedic items  and send them to Ayub Hospital through urgent courier service. Items like, drills, external fixators, sutures, IV lines, ortho screws etc are short there.
 
In the Baltimore/Hopkins area, we have already raised $6000 on emergent basis and aiming for $10,000 shipment of very expensive but specially discounted orthopedic equipment (Drill and screws/nalis) as urgently as possible. This equipment is only made by few companies in the advanced countries like US, Germany, UK etc and the label of ortho screws have to match with the company label in order to be useful with the drills. The rest of surgical trauma equipment is mostly generic individually-like IV lines/cannulas/sutures etc.

Please channel your aid into this priority area and help save people from being disabled for life, or lose their salvageable lives once they reach the trauma centers.
