Tent Drive!

Shenaaz Janmohammed, along with a team from Pakistan and the UK are coordinating a fund to purchase a large number of tents both in Pakistan and abroad. These tents will be sent through different distribution channels to remote populations in the north that have not been as accessible to international aid.

The Chowrangi magazine team would like to put first-person accounts of the earthquake, its aftermath, and relief efforts up on our website (www.chowrangi.org), as well as publish some in our upcoming issue (with
permission). Please send on any accounts and stories that you have received. We hope this will do some justice to the amazing love, courage and resilience shown by the people of Pakistan.

Reach Out to All Americans

We are writing to encourage you to reach out to all Americans, regardless of ethnic background. While it is important for Pakistani Americans to give and give generously, we believe that the community should also reach out to other Americans. We know that some of you have already begun to do so.

To facilitate this, we have produced the attached flyer. This document -- with its message and suggested list of relief agencies -- was drafted with a target audience of all Americans in mind.

Now, here's where you come in.  

We ask you to take one or more of the following steps:

There are a lot of efforts going on all over the Greater DC area and, indeed, all over the world. If you are involved in a project, whether it's a fundraiser, goods collection, or awareness campaign there is opportunity connect with like-minded individuals. Use the main blog to post ideas or create a starting point for collaboration. Under "Blog topics" use categories, separated by commas, already posted in order to increase the chance of your post being read.
